Hello Friends! My name is Alexandra Ryte. I was born in 1959 in Miami, Florida but spent most of my life in and around Charleston, SC. In my travels around the nation, I’ve lived in New Orleans, LA; Norfolk, VA; and Vallejo, CA. Several years ago, I met and married my wife, Amanda, and we now live in Jonesboro, GA.
I’ve had more jobs than I can remember; but, I come from a long line of carpenters/general contractors so carpentry has always been close to my heart. Though I’m a busy housewife and writer now, I still love to tinker on my home.
I began writing not long after I learned how to use a pencil. I started journaling when I was in the 2nd grade and by the time I was a tween, I had a stack of notebooks filled with stories, cartoons, and poems. Sadly, all my early works were destroyed.
I didn’t have the best of childhoods, to say the least, so reading and writing were my escapes. I have a very vivid imagination and so, when times were exceedingly hard, my pencil would take me to a world where I was safe and loved.
I tend to be very descriptive in my writing because I am trying to paint in words the images I see in my mind. Usually, a story idea will come to me in images, like snippets of a movie, and I try to take my reader into the world that has been revealed to me.
